Post-Implementation Review into Certain Aspects of the Consolidation Regime

The Chairman of the Board of Taxation, Mr Richard FE Warburton AO, today announced that the Board will be holding consultation forums in Sydney on 1 February 2010 and in Melbourne on 3 February 2010 on the Board’s post‑implementation review into certain aspects of the consolidation regime.

On 9 December 2009, the Board released a discussion paper on the post‑implementation review into certain aspects of the consolidation regime. This paper provides a framework for consideration of the key issues that have been brought to the attention of the Board and poses questions to be addressed as part of the consultation process.

The objectives of the consultation meeting are twofold: to provide information on the discussion paper; and to seek feedback from participants on the issues raised in the Board’s paper.

The Board invites stakeholders to register their interest in attending either of these forums by email at taxboard@treasury.gov.au by 26 January 2010. Details of the venues will be provided on registration.
