Why is the Board of Taxation undertaking this study?

The Board of Taxation has been asked by the Government to review the compliance costs experienced by organisations and businesses just like yours in complying with FBT laws. The purpose of this study is to collect data on these costs and understand the sources of these costs.

Who is conducting the surveys?

The Board of Taxation is running the surveys with assistance from ORIMA Research, an independent research company. ORIMA Research is a member of the Association of Market and Social Research Organisations (AMSRO). Membership with the AMSRO can be verified at the AMSRO website.

ORIMA Research is hosting the surveys and all survey responses will go directly to ORIMA. Your individual survey responses will not be known to the Board of Taxation or the Australian Taxation Office.

Will my survey responses be confidential?

Yes. Your responses to the survey questions will be kept strictly confidential unless you choose to identify yourself. Results that may identify you or your organisation will not be provided to the Australian Taxation Office, the Board of Taxation or any other party unless expressly permitted by you. Your organisation will not be identifiable in any reporting of this research.

How do I complete the survey?

How long will the survey take?

If you are an average size business and depending on your responses, the survey will take approximately 10 to 30 minutes to complete. If you are a tax agent, the survey will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Can I see the results?

You can select to be notified when the report is released when filling out the survey.

The Board will use the results from this survey to prepare a report to Government. Publication of the Board’s reports is generally a matter for Government.
